thats crazy. I respect your guys sport alot. Not much protecting you if that thing flip, top speed on a regualr circle?

then again having nothing but a helmet, neckbrace, and a chest protect going 70 and jumping 120 ft in the air isnt exactly what one would call safe either.

Actually that rollcage will protect you more than you think. I got two concussions racing go-karts, but no injuries in these yet. And we have hans devices, firesuits, an expensive helmet haha and arm restraints. And I don't know what your talking about....120ft is perfectly safe

Yea you're almost exactly right. The one on the left has a smaller motor, but you need to shift more which is why I like it. It was I think 18,000. The one on the right is new this year and has a bigger motor that doesnt require as much shifting. We got a carbon fiber body so it cost about 23,000. I got my car completely redone for free because we got the special body though.

wow. I'd say building a full race bike is just about 14k. Thats not factory level though.

New a 450 is right around 9k, then you gotta look at suspension 3k, top end 2k, bottom end 1k, and tranny 1k. Then all the other like sprockets, rims, hubs, grips, levers, chains, tires, handlebars get replaced all the time. Tires every 10 hours, oil every ride......

race gas 9$ a gallon. Motosports are expensive in the long run lol. Exactly why sponsors are a blessing.

EDIT: that motor looks like a 600 or 1000? is it off of a motorcycle? Id say either a CBR600/1000rr or a R1/6

Yea I think thats really one of the big differences. On these you really don't replace too much. We go through one set of tires a season. Everything is also mandated, so you don't need to run aftermarket parts to keep up. And yea, that motor is a 600, and the other one is a 270. Its a motorcycle engine, but its manufactured for racing. We run methanol too, which is only like 2 something a gallon. And yes haha, sponsors are beyond a blessing, seeing as a blown motor is way too common

Mine just almost a rod....uhgg. my head was ok, thats what im worried about, lol.

my friends just lost a CCT (cam chain tensioner) his cam sprocket jumped a few teeth, it floated both of the intake valves which blew through the piston, broke the connection, it launched into his head and destroyed it. The rod meanwhile threw down and broke his flywheel weight which cause the left main bearing to fail, destroying the crank, water pump, and oil pump.

Can you say BOMBED! meanwhile this happend at the rev limiter, 14,000 rpm.




Anyways. your right replacement is big with us. Tires every other race or so, oil every race, grips often. Levers whenever they break, new exhuast packing every 10 hours, new sprockets every 50 hours, new chain every 15, new piston every 15, new valves every 150 if your lucky. Rings every race, spark every other race, suspension nitrogen every season, fork oil every season, suspension springs every season, fork seals every 25 hours, handlebars whenever they break, radiators when they break or leak, or fail, rad fluid every 25, and air filter every race.

Sorry...I had to set up for a party but hoh wow....I didn't know it was that extensive. A new chain? I don't think i've ever replaced my chain haha. But with blowing the motor...WOW haha thats quite destroyed. Last year my bro hydrolicized the motor (letting too much gas in without burning it...IE leaving the gas on) The rod went straight through the head and then proceeded downward through the engine block. The only part we saved was the transmission haha.

for blownup motors...thats all you can do most of the time.

oh haha...I guess I haven't blown up enough yet ive only raced these for two years. I guess thats kind of obvious though.

EDIT: I meant saving the tranny, not the racing for two years is obvious.

Touche, 250f, I just got my third concussion when I went into a wall head on at 45....so there might be a safety issue there. No whiplash though, the hans made itself worth it.

5 concussions in 2 seasons. My last one was bad. 10 minute track-side nap, nausea, my eyes took like 5 seconds to focus, dizziness, loss of coordination. I was a mess. ER that night and a cat-scan. Turned out I just knocked it real good and had some swelling.

Yea that was my second....in smaller cars I flipped and hit my head on the wall. I thought I was dreaming and I realized what was going on halfway through questions in the med tent. Same situation though, just swelling.

I got a concussion fighting over a nickle... ah high school, how I miss the good old days... We were diving down for it and I got kicked in the head. My head was a few inches off the floor, so it bounced pretty good. <-- Just like that.

I ended up walking it off basically over the course of the week or so. It also happened during our bands recording of my Clown intro to the album. Literally 15 seconds of speaking is all I had to do, but it took me over an hour to do it. I kept forgetting what I had to say even though I had the paper right in front of me.

If I come across it again I'll host it so you guys can listen yo it lol.


...Reading that bad makes me wonder why we did that shit in the first place... haha
